Critical metals are strategic, high-technology raw materials whose supply disruptions would generate a significant impact. At the present time, this designation particularly applies to rare earth elements (REE) and other critical metals, which are undergoing substantial shifts in their supply economics. This special session will address the origin, evolution and precipitation of critical metals, with a special emphasis on REE-related systems and their economic potential. The reports will delve into magmatic, hydrothermal, and weathering mineralization related to carbonatite and alkaline rocks. Geologists, petrologists, mineralogists and geochemists will be invited contribute to this cutting-edge session on carbonatite-alkaline rocks and their associated strategic mineral deposits.
