FIELD TRIPS

In addition to visits of the old City of Nanjing during the conference week, we are pleased to offer a variety of pre- and post-conference field trips with mineralogical and geological focus, but also historical and impressive sightseeing components. 

The programme includes several-day tours to, e.g., 

  • the Karst topography and carbonate-type manganese deposits in Guilin area

  • the Neoproterozoic phosphorus deposits-Chengjiang Biota-Cangshan metamorphic rocks-hydrothermal gold deposits in Yunnan

  • the granite domes and lithium deposits in Western Sichuan

  • the Cambrian microbialites and alkaline granites in Shandong

  • the salt lake deposits and rocky desertification areas in Qinghai

Several one-day trip around Nanjing have been planned, including Cenozoic volcanic groups, Nanjing Ape-Man Cave (300 ka), Jiangsu Palygorskite Mine, distinctive mine parks after ecological environment restored, Mineral Carbon Storage Demonstration Project, and wonderful mineral museums.
